Title: Program Coordinator 

Status: 35 hours 

Reports to: Executive Director  

Role:  

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for achieving the deliverables of the Healthy Early Years,  Bright Beginnings program and Dialogue McGill programs 1, funded by the Community Health and Social  Services Network (CHSSN) and Health Canada. The aim of this program is to enhance the well-being and  educational success of English-speaking children and youth in Quebec. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Children, Youth and Families Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities that  support the deliverables outlined in the Healthy Early Years (HEY), Bright Beginnings (BB), Dialogue  McGill, and Enhancing Regional Community Capacity (ERCC) work plans, while ensuring that reporting  requirements are met.  

Planned activities include:  

• Engaging in community networking and representation to develop and strengthen partnerships,  share resources, and build relationships throughout the Mauricie–Centre-du-Québec (MCQ) region,  including participation in round tables and working groups. in the Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec  (MCQ), including sitting on round tables. 

• Reviewing, adapting, and implementing programs that foster a sense of belonging among the  English-speaking community (ESC), while strengthening linkages with French-speaking organizations  and services.  

• Raising awareness among partners about the needs of English-speaking children aged 0–5 and youth  aged 0–17. 

• Managing the Dialogue McGill bursary program. 

• Developing and improving methods to consult vulnerable English-speaking children, youth, and  families in order to better understand their needs.  

• Developing and disseminating information and resources to support target populations and improve  awareness of available programs and services.  

• Collaborating with local service providers and partners institutions to facilitate presentations,  workshops and professional services not readily available in English. 

• Collaborating with partners to deliver outreach and/or cultural programming (Mini-move, Hug-a melody, etc.) throughout the MCQ region. 

• Tracking activities, compiling mid-term and final program reports, and reporting to the ED.  

Knowledge, skills and abilities:  

• Strong verbal communications skills in both French and English, excellent written English, and good  written French skills. 

• Experience coordinating group activities for babies, toddlers and children and youth, including  planning and implementing engaging and age-appropriate activities. 

• Experience working within a non-profit organization.  

• Creative, resourceful, high energy, with good problem-solving skills. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to effectively interact with parents, caregivers, community members, partners and the CASE team.  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online communication tools (e.g., email, Zoom, Microsoft  Teams).  

• Strong orientation towards cooperation, collaboration, information-sharing and teamwork.  • Sensitivity to and respect for individual and cultural, linguistic and individual diversity.  • Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy  

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. 

Working environment:  

• Work is carried out in one of the CASE offices (Drummondville or Trois-Rivières) and remotely for a  total of 35 hours per week. 

• Some work may be completed remotely (home office). High-speed internet access is required.  Remote work arrangements must be approved by the Executive Director. A minimum of two days  per week in the office is required. 

• Travel within the Mauricie–Centre-du-Québec region is required. 

• Flexible working hours are required in order to participate in occasional evening or weekend  meetings and events. 

Qualifications:  

• Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and/or equivalent combination of  education and relevant experience.  

• Legal authorization to work in Canada required.  

• Valid driver’s licence and consistent access to a car required.
