Testing and Vaccination

COVID-19 testing is now conducted by appointment only and is reserved for certain clienteles only. The population is asked to use the rapid tests at home when presenting COVID-19 symptoms. Consult this CIUSSS page in English for details on how is eligible for the PCR testing in the screening clinics. Click here for details on how and where to get vaccinated.

Ask the Expert videos - Medical experts answer common questions about COVID-19 vaccines for children 5 to 11 years old:

o   What are the benefits of vaccinating my child against COVID-19?

o   How are children’s COVID-19 vaccines monitored for safety and side effects? 

o   My child turns 12 soon. Should they wait to receive the dose for ages 12 and up?

Vaccine Passport / QR Code

The COVID-19 vaccination passport is no longer required in the province of Quebec in order to gain admittance to certain venues or engage in certain non-essential activities. Vaccination proof is still required for traveling internationally. See the Government of Canada’s website for more details. Haven’t gotten your vaccination proof yet? Click here to apply for your vaccine passport/QR code proof of vaccination.

You may also get your proof sent to you by post by calling 1-877-644-4545 and selecting the “preuve de vaccination” option. This line can also provide support if you are having difficulty receiving or downloading the proof of vaccination. The service is available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

211 Grand Montréal
211 Grand Montreal is a free helpline and web service that connects you to community and social services of Greater Montreal - in over 200 languages. This information and referral service is available 7 days a week, from 8 am to 6 pm, 365 days a year, which will eventually be open 24 hours a day.

Accessing Government Aid
A Plain Language Guide
A Carleton University professor has created a plain language guide to help those trying to access government programs in the time of coronavirus. The document gives straightforward instructions on how to apply for aid such as Employment Insurance, Caregiver Benefits, rent subsidies, and more. She answers questions such as: “I’m self-employed. What benefits can I get?” and “I am at home because my kids cannot go to school or daycare. I need money to make ends meet.

Priorité Parents
The Fédération Québécoise des Organismes Communautaires Familles (FQOCF) has launched a new project called Priorité Parents. This is a free virtual service dedicated to help parents who want to get sustained short-term or medium-term personalized support in English or in French. The Priorité Parents staff help define the parents’ needs and connects other partner organizations according to the services required.
